WASHINGTON — The Senate confirmed Amy Coney Barrett as a United States Supreme Court Justice. Sen. Mike Braun, R-Indiana, spoke with the Medill News Service on Monday about Barrett’s confirmation vote.

“I think we’ll have one of the best Supreme Court Justices that we’ve put on the bench in a long time; someone that is that humble and that smart and embedded in those Midwestern values,” Braun said.

The Republican-led Senate voted 52-48 to confirm Barrett.

Barrett has served on the 7th Circuit Court of Appeals since 2017. She’s a graduate of Notre Dame Law School and Rhodes College.
