Education Department Secretary Linda McMahon testified at a House appropriations committee on the department’s proposed budget for the 2026 Fiscal Year. McMahon says the department is looking at cutting Head Start programs and mental health services for students, while investing more in trade and charter schools to promote more “school choice options.”
