WASHINGTON — Leaders from Catholic Charities in the Virgin Islands were invited to the White House to discuss a recent release by the Census Bureau that one in six people in the U.S. live below the poverty line. Representatives of Catholic Charities USA, President Barack Obama’s chief of staff and senior advisers exchanged ideas on how to fight the growing issue.
