WASHINGTON – Ten undergraduate journalism students from around the country, including Medill junior Omar Jimenez, finished their video and radio projects for the Hearst Journal Awards finals on Wednesday in the Medill Washington Program newsroom.
The finalists in the Broadcast News Championship category spent Tuesday reporting on how the move to direct-to-voter communication by many politicians has changed the media and political landscape, then put their stories together at Medill.
The winners were to be announced Thursday evening. The prestigious awards program, in its 53rd year, provides scholarships to the winners.
