WASHINGTON -The National Museum of the Marine Corps will open three new galleries on June 5. The galleries will showcase life-size cast figure Marines along with 250 artifacts dating from the founding of the Corps in 1775 to World War I.
The $12 million exhibit stretches 12,000 sq. feet and offers audio-visual pieces, graphics and murals that tell stories from a Marine’s perspective. The museum currently includes exhibits documenting World War II, The Korean War and the Vietnam War. There are also galleries highlighting combat art, boot camp and the current Global War on Terrorism.
