It’s official: Gen. David Petraeus has been confirmed as the new Afghan war commander in a unanimous Senate vote, 99-0. Petraeus enjoys enormous popularity among party leaders from both sides of the aisle, but his confirmation hearing gave senators an opportunity to air broad concerns about President Barack Obama’s war strategy.
