Ryan Koniak has nine years of experience in the Army National Guard including two overseas deployments. He also has a bachelor’s degree and is working on his second master’s degree – yet he can’t find a full-time job.
Veteran unemployment is about 13 percent, compared with 9 percent among the overall population, and post-9/11 veteran unemployment ranges as high as 29 percent in certain states.
