WASHINGTON — While the public is concerned with the 9 percent unemployment rate across the country, a certain subset of the population is especially worried – veterans.
The post-9/11 veteran unemployment rate is 13.3 percent and ranges as high as 30 percent in certain states. Additionally, with the drawdown of troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, the White House estimates that 1 million vets will be entering the civilian workforce over the next four years.
