WASHINGTON- President Barack Obama, members of his cabinet and leaders in the Hispanic community spoke Wednesday at the White House forum of American Latino heritage.
Leaders called the forum the first event of its kind and talked about accomplishments of Latinos in the American economy, as well as their contributions in war. President Obama also took the opportunity to talk about his controversial jobs bill. The proposed bill was voted down by the Senate Tuesday and Obama said he would continue to push until Congress votes in favor.
