With student loan debt reaching one trillion dollars in the U.S, Congressman Hanson Clarke (D-Mich.) has put forth a bill to help avoid what he calls “a financial crisis.”
The online petition site signon.org has gathered more than one million signatures in support of the bill. Despite broad support, the bill is a long way from becoming law.
