WASHINGTON — A burger joint in the nation’s capital served up thousands of free hamburgers to furloughed government employees Tuesday. Burger Z, which has six locations in the D.C. area, says it will be serving the gourmet burgers free everyday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. daily until the government employees are allowed to return to work. “They better get back to work or we’ll go out of business soon,” said Peter Tabibian.
The line snaked around the building as employees pined to cash on the promised freebies. Check out more deals around Washington area.
