WASHINGTON—U.S. manufacturers face a growing challenge of finding skilled workers. Currently, there are about 600,000 manufacturing job vacancies, and 2.7 million manufacturing employees are expected to retire in the next decade, according to industry groups. Northern Virginia Community College is one of a growing number of schools training workers for the manufacturing industry.
