Anti-death penalty protesters say capital punishment is ‘bad public policy’

WASHINGTON – For the last 20 years anti-death penalty activists have gathered outside of the Supreme Court for a 4-day vigil. The demonstrations mark the 1972 Supreme Court decision ruling capital punishment unconstitutional, as well as the 1976 vote in which it was reinstated. These “inhumane” tactics are “killing our citizens,” affirm protesters.
