The annually Open Doors report released by the Institute of International Education (IIE) this year shows the United States is short of students studying abroad. Compared with an 8 percent growth rate of international students in the U.S., reaching nearly 9 millions, the number of American students participating in global education increases only 2 percent. Partnering with 13 governments and 450 universities and institutions, IIE launched a nationwide campaign to increase social awareness and provide financial support.
