WASHINGTON – Immigration reform advocates rallied at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement headquarters on Tuesday demanding the release of women and children being detained at an ICE facility in Texas. Seventy-eight women inside the Karnes detention center held a 5-day hunger strike to protest abuse they’ve suffered while awaiting immigration and asylum hearings. The petition contained 10,000 signatures. Reporter Tanni Deb spoke with the campaign manager and petitioners at the rally.
