WASHINGTON — Amid growing concerns about veteran health issues and increased active-duty deployments to places like Syria and Iraq, Jon Stewart and several of his former Daily Show sidekicks performed at Joint Base Andrews on Thursday night to kick off Military Appreciation Month. President Barack Obama, first lady Michelle Obama and the Bidens thanked members of the military, who brought their families with them to share in the laughs.
