WASHINGTON – An Orange County girl is representing her local children’s hospital in Washington, D.C. and encouraging people to donate to help children like her who are sick with a multitude of diseases.

Jordin Jackson suffers from sickle cell disease and receives treatment at Children’s Hospital of Orange County. After years of befriending the doctors and nurses who take care of her each time she visits, the hospital named her the 2016 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion Child for the state of California.

Part of the job duties include touring the nation’s capitol, meeting government officials and corporate sponsors, and hanging out with other kids and families who have gone through experiences just like her.

The fun is not over for Jordin and her family, as they will finish their tenure as Champion Family in February with a trip to Disney World alongside the Champion Families from each of the other states.
