ANNANDALE, Va. — Just 10 days before the Democratic National Convention is set to begin in Philadelphia, presumptive Democratic nominee took the stage alongside Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) during an afternoon rally on Thursday.

It was an audition of sorts for Kaine, who is said to be a safe bet for Clinton’s running mate. He has been a Clinton family ally for many years and has previously served as Mayor of Richmond and Governor of Virginia before serving in his current role as the U.S. Senator for the state. He has also said that he was vetted back in 2008 to run alongside President Barack Obama.

Kaine showed off his Spanish skills, which he learned during a Catholic missionary trip to Honduras in his post-graduate years, in an appeal to the Latino audience in Northern Virginia. He and Clinton also took turns making jabs at the presumptive Republican nominee, Donald Trump.

Clinton is expected to name a running mate before she heads to Philadelphia for the Democratic National Convention on July 25-28.
