WASHINGTON — After another school shooting claimed the lives of 17 people in Parkland, Florida, students from the school have been leading the charge to reform our nation’s gun laws.
In Florida, where the students have been lobbying at the state capitol, a gun reform bill is on the verge of final passage.
Oregon Governor Kate Brown passed the strongest gun reform legislation since the shooting Monday, by passing a bill that forbids gun ownership for people convicted of domestic violence against non-married partners.
Even traditionally conservative states like Alabama, Kentucky and Utah have introduced various forms of legislation to change gun laws in their states.
Nationwide efforts to reform gun laws in our country will culminate in The March for Our Lives on March 24, a rally advocating for gun reform, with events planned in Washington, D.C. and 18 other states.
