WASHINGTON – Queer youth Addison Moore and Jack Davis find support and community at SMYAL, a community organization that serves LGBTQ+ youth in the greater DMV area. SMYAL stands for Supporting and Mentoring Youth Advocates and Leaders. That’s exactly what Moore and Davis have become.

Leaders in their own right, Moore fights for transgender and non-binary rights, and Davis advocates for transgender rights and healthcare. SMYAL’s goal is to allow youth to lead the masses, so that they may bring a better tomorrow for others.

The Human Rights Campaign, a nationally recognized civil rights organization, also works to help and motivate LGBTQ+ youth through their Children Youth and Families program run by Ellen Kahn.
