Monday marked the beginning of confirmation hearings for Judge Amy Coney Barrett, President Trump’s pick to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court.

Senate Judiciary Committee members and Judge Barrett delivered opening remarks, kicking off a four day political battle over a nomination that has sparked controversy between the two parties. Democrats and Republicans have argued over the constitutionality of a SCOTUS nomination just three weeks before an election.
