WASHINGTON — Some DC businesses have boarded up their windows in anticipation of tonight’s election results. The White House is surrounded by a non-scalable fence. The fence reaches from H Street to Constitution Avenue.
“It’s a bit ominous just having the big, intimidating fencing and people with guns watching you,” said North Carolina resident Mac Golos.
Golos added that he understands why they are adding the fencing but it feels a bit “dystopian.”
It’s not clear who people think may cause harm when the results are announced. People can sign up for real-time safety alerts at alertdc.dc.gov.
