WASHINGTON – The Foreign Affairs subcommittee on the Middle East, North Africa and Global Counterterrorism held a hearing on how to assess the U.S. policy response to the economic and political crisis in Lebanon. Witnesses stressed that Lebanon suffers from political instability, corruption and a humanitarian crisis.

The committee urged more support from the Biden Administration, and recognized the need for help from European Union countries to stabilize the political and economic situation by providing humanitarian aid.
