WASHINGTON — After last year’s game was canceled due to the pandemic, the Congressional Women’s Softball Game returned to Capitol Hill on Wednesday night.
The game is held annually to raise money for the Young Survival Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to the critical issues unique to young adults diagnosed with breast cancer.
A bipartisan team of congresswomen put partisanship aside to compete in a seven inning game against a team of women journalists from the DC press corps. Many of the women shared their personal experiences with breast cancer and the need for more awareness on the issue.
