As part of their “Joining Forces” initiative, first lady Michelle Obama and Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, put the finishing touches on the 1,000th home renovated for veterans. They were joined by executives of Sears Holding Corp. and the nonprofit organization Rebuild Together, which provided almost 100 volunteers since June to work on the rowhouse for an Army veteran, part of the Heroes at Home program.
