WASHINGTON — Thousands converged at the foot of the Washington monument, Sunday, at the historic Unite to Face Addiction Rally. This event was the first of its kind which addressed many issues such as lack of funding surrounding health benefits, addiction treatment and recovery programs for millions of Americans this illness has affected.
Many came from far and near to share their stories of how this has impacted their lives. But the main take away was to end the silence surrounding addiction in hopes their voices would be heard in Congress to encourage more legislation that will facilitate recovery resources.
