WASHINGTON – Tens of thousands of people came to the Mall on Sunday for a rally advocating for climate change legislation. The event included speeches from “Avatar” director James Cameron and author Margaret Atwood, and performances by The Roots, Passion Pit, Sting and John Legend.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., pulled out of negotiations Saturday for a climate change bill he was going to introduce with Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Sen. Joe Lieberman, I-Conn. The bill was expected to be introduced on Monday, and its fate remains uncertain.
