WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama held the first-ever Twitter town hall Wednesday at the White House. Obama answered the most-popular questions from the public tweeted using the hashtag #AskObama. Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey moderated the event and neither he nor the president knew the questions ahead of time.
The president reaffirmed some of his biggest actions in office to combat the recession, as well as his more controversial stances on the current debt negotiations. According to the White House, the town hall was meant to keep up with the latest technology of the information age — just as past presidents did with their contemporary media.
