Members of Congress teamed up with local preschoolers and education leaders to participate in the 6th Annual Read for the Record Day. The event was sponsored by Jumpstart, a nonprofit organization focused on early learning for students in low-income neighborhoods.
More than 2 million people around the world read Llama Llama Red Pajama by Anna Dewdney. Jumpstart officials said they hoped the event would draw attention to the need for funding.
