President Barack Obama honored the Louisville men’s basketball team for their 2013 NCAA championship victory Tuesday at the White House. The Cardinals took the title in April after an 82-76 win over Michigan.
It was Louisville’s third NCAA championship. Only seven other teams have claimed that distinction.
Head Coach Rick Pitino and the Cardinals also headed to the U.S. Capitol later that day to visit with a fellow Louisville graduate, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell.
