WASHINGTON — An 11-year-old horse named Crescendo competed in the Washington International Horse Show in mid-October. He didn’t win; he didn’t even place. But his rider, Morgan Dickerson, still called his performance “a miracle.”
While competing in the summer of 2014 at San Juan Capistrano EquiSports, Crescendo contracted a near-fatal toxin.
After collapsing, Dickerson said he wasn’t sure his equine companion would pull through. But Crescendo started improving, and Dickerson decided the horse was ready to face a comeback in Washington.
