WASHINGTON — Tensions were high at the steps of the Supreme Court today with the court’s first hearing on abortion under the Trump administration.

The administration replaced Justice Anthony Kennedy, who was considered a swing vote, with Justice Brett Kavanaugh and nominated Justice Neil Gorsuch, shifting the court’s ideological composition more to the right.

“We have high hopes that the five pro-life justices will come down on the pro-life side,” said Kristan Hawkins, president of Students for Life of America.
