WASHINGTON — Members of Congress gathered at Nationals Park Wednesday night to play in the annual Congressional Baseball Game for Charity. The game took place amid fierce partisan negotiations to avert a government shutdown and prevent a default on the nation’s debt.
The Republicans, who wore matching red uniforms, eeked out a 13-12 win against the Democrats, who sported a mix of replica jerseys representing their hometown teams.
