WASHINGTON — The Virginia Governor’s race is neck and neck as voters head to the ballot box on Tuesday.

Former Democratic governor Terry McAuliffe and Republican Glenn Youngkin have been battling it out across the state for months, campaigning on the issues of education, the economy, COVID-19, and attacking each other’s character.

The race has been widely cast as a bellwether for how voters view the two political parties heading into the 2022 midterm elections. Many are wondering whether Democrats can turn out enough voters to close the enthusiasm gap following Joe Biden’s win in the 2020 presidential election.
