President Barack Obama hosted the Baylor Lady Bears basketball team members at the White House on Wednesday in honor of their NCAA championship.
Not only did they take the trophy but they were absolutely unstoppable in the process, cruising to a 40-0 season, a national first. Led by star center Brittney Griner and coach Kim Mulkey, the team was honored in the White House’s East Room.
“Since they’ve got all five starters coming back, I suspect that they’re the odds-on favorite for my bracket next year as well,” Obama said.
Following the ceremony, the president was given a team jersey with ‘OBAMA’ on the back of it.
